Dear Customer:

Growing up with my grandparents on their small farm, I learned many practical skills at a young age. Not the least of which was how to fix things and use tools. Carpentry, mechanics, basic plumbing, and electrics were required learning. Along with riding my bicycle, building and fixing things were my favorite pastimes.

I draw from a career that started in my teen years, working for a home improvement contractor. As a young adult I moved into bigger construction projects. A thirst for skills led me to college where I trained in mechanical and machine tool design and fabrication. From there I took a job as a draftsman with an engineering firm. I worked on many designs and learned many skills. I began troubleshooting, repairing and then supervising the building and installation of industrial equipment. After my first child arrived, I returned to working close to home, and back to home improvement contracting and my organic roots of lumber and shingles.

I still carry the lessons I learned from my Yiaya and Papou; how to appreciate what the world has to offer, what it means to be a good steward, and how to work and play.

I adopted my slogan from a customer who said this to me when I first began Taormina Home Services. This homeowner had a recurring troublesome issue that several others had attempted to remedy. I found the issue and resolved the problem in one visit. His words became my slogan:

“Where there’s Phil, there’s a way”
